Please join SEAConn for their Annual Holiday Party with a presentation given by Michael J. Rzeznik of Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. and Rick Way of DeStefano & Chamberlain, Inc. on the Fire Design of Structures.
This talk will briefly examine the history of fire design testing, specifically ASTM E119, and how structural materials and systems perform under fire exposure. It will touch on key building code provisions for fire resistance ratings for structural members and highlight various architectural and engineering methods used to achieve these ratings. The presentation will also discuss real-world examples to illustrate potential challenges for consideration when designing, specifying and performing construction administration for spray-applied fire resistive materials (SFRM) and intumescent fire resistive materials (IFRM).
The party and presentation will be hosted at the New Haven Lawn Club located at 193 Whitney Ave, New Haven, CT on Wednesday December 3th at 5:30pm .
